                                                             Fre State Beach

A great place to go. Located right along a military base, it is a known nude beach and although nudity is prohibited on state beaches, this small section of beach is a "no complaint-no problem" section of beach. Recent court ruling have eliminated the "Cahill Policy" at this beach location, therefore the department of Parks and Recreation have issued notice that citations will be issued to nude bathers here. We have been there several times since the ruling and still have yet to see any citations issued and the beach is still frequented by nude sunbathers and families who want to enjoy the ocean while being clothes free.
Requires a hike down a bluff trail, but is fairly easy access if you are physically able to hike a few miles. This beach ajoins the marine base on its south side and the base is clearly marked. and anyone crossing the base limits can be prosecuted for trespassing. The area is regularly monitored by military personell.
Directions:

From Los Angeles: I-5 south to Baselone rd exit. Turn left and follow service road about 2 miles to the guard booth. After paying the parking fee, follow all the way to the end of the roadway to "Trail 6". Follow the hiking trail to the beach. The popular nude area is located about 100 yards south of the lifeguard tower. Mostly the lifeguards will not bother the beach or its visitors unless you are nude and get too far north. The common landmark line is the gully.

A legal nude beach, regularily patrolled by sherrif department and lifeguards. A great place to go for fun and relaxation. Permanently  built beach vollyball court, easy access for lifeguard and emergency vehicles makes this a safe place for any family activity.  Short but very steep stairway trail from top of bluff is good if you are very physically fit.  Access can be made from public beaches if tides are low. Beach access requires a 3 mile walk along beach.  Great for visitors with small children or healt issues that might be aggrivated by the steep hike up or down the bluff.

                                                           Glen Eden Sun Club
Corona CaA very nice family oriented clothing optional resort. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Tour is required on first visit. You get a cahance to see the entire park which has alot of residents, as well as plenty of access for RV's, cabins and tent camping is also available. The recreation area is extremely nice and includes pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts, fitness center and a large, playground for the kids. A shaded grassy knoll is ajoining the playground area and is perfect for relaxing on a blanket in the shade while watching your kids. We were impressed on our tour with the "Library of nudism" which, although is lot larg in size, contains a large collection of books and literature on the history of nudism through the years worldwide. We were unable to go in the library on our visit due to our time restraints, but we are looking forward to our next visit there. We will be taking a couple days in the near future to stay overnight there.

This is an absolutely beautiful area. Just south of Abalone Cove (Los Angeles parks and Recreation), this area is a sunbathers haven.  There are posted "NUDITY PROHIBITED" signs on the beach in Abalone Cove, but non that we saw in Sacreds Cove. The cove is in between two peninsulas, both of which are impassable during high tide. The peninsula between Sacreds and Abalone cove is separated by a 6-8 foot wide gully which requires swimming across to get to the cove. On low tide, the peninsula itself is still hidden from the view of lifeguard tower on Abalone cove and is a grat place to sunbathe or let the kids check out tidepools. The drawback to being nude on the peninsula is that is it also and excellent fishing area and is frequented by people fishing. If you dont mind sharing the area with "non-nudists" your fine, but when there are sunbathers, we noticed that a few of the fisherman were not rembering to put bait on the hooks.  The beach on the cove itself isnt big, but is good for swimming and sunbathing. Access by boat is the recommended due to the hike directly to the cove from the roadway is extremely steep and access from the north or south peninsula could leave you stranded if the tide comes in forcing a steep climb up which we would not recommend for anyone with any kind of health related issues.

We do personally know several LA County Sheriff Dept. Officers who frequently check the beach and will issue citations at thier discretion. This is due to the high amount of innapropriate sexual activity that is becoming a problem here. We have not witnessed this behavior yet, We also go there only by boat and stay out away from shore where there is less risk of exposure to this type of activity or legal conflict.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW PLACES TO CONGREGATE AND VISIT. IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTED LOCATIONS, PLEASE LET US KNOW.  WE HAVE VISITED SEVERAL PLACES IN PALM SPRINGS BUT NOT RECENTLY.
